Games-focused YA mystery available as free podcast; includes contest where readers can win game development tools.

Ontario, Canada − May 15, 2009 - Author L.D. Taylor announced today the release of the second episode of Motive Games: an interactive, multimedia mystery set in the game development industry. Both the first and second episodes are available as free audio books at www.motivegames.com/podcast. The full multimedia version is available for the Narrator iPhone/iPod Touch app at www.itunes.com/app/Narrator.

Readers who wish to "play along" with the lead character as he tries to figure out "whodunit," how, and why, can enter to win game development tools or one of two iPod Touches. The first prize is a MacBook, a license of the modo 3D modeling and rendering software (courtesy Luxology LLC) a license of the Houdini Apprentice 3D animation package (courtesy Side Effects Software, Inc.) and a license of the Torque 3D game engine (courtesy Garage Games): retail value $2544 USD. The contest is open to anyone aged 16 and over (except residents of the province of Quebec); though coming up with the right answers requires listening to either the free audiobook version of the story or the Narrator version.

About Narrator Narrator, made by Hey Mac Software, uses iPhone and iPod Touch technology to put the "cool factor" into teen’s (and children’s) stories. It offers audio playback synched perfectly with a high-quality, e-reader; and interaction with stories through web links, scripts, and a built-in dictionary – giving readers the ability to immediately dive deeper into the narrative if they so choose. Also, a broad range of layout options are used to enhance the story – characters receive, read and scroll through emails, chat and text messages that look like their real-life counterparts from the device. Narrator is available at the App store for $2.99.
